Touchpad version

On a mailing list I am on the following was posted in a thread about HP dumping the Touchpad

For all you Touchpad folks out there,I just got an E-mail from iSilo and it reads like this:

I am wondering if you, iSilo folks, will continue your efforts now that you have heard the news
about HP dumping the platform?

Despite the HP announcement, we continue to work on the Touchpad version and hope to have it available soon.

I have been playing with iSilo on my TouchPad and I am very happy.
It works smoothly and so far I haven't found any problems or bugs.

OK, so I found a minor bug in the TP version (but with an easy workaround).

I renamed a few files from a List screen and they disappeared off the list of books.
I figured out that it removed the .pdb extension (though it was not visible in the list or the 'rename' box, because I had 'show extension' turned off) and the program no longer saw it as a valid book.
The obvious workaround is to keep 'show extension' turned on when you're renaming and make sure you don't delete it.

But it shouldn't do this... If the extension is not showing, it shouldn't delete it when you rename the book.

BTW: it would help if the box on the 'rename' popup would adjust to the size of the title. Remember that there is no easy way to move the cursor on the TP, so I have no way to go to the end (some of my titles have "The" at the beginning and I want to move it to the end, but I can't get the cursor there). I know this is a limitation on the TP and not your fault, but if you could adjust to it that would help us out.

When I try to create a bookmark with the same name as an existing one (eg. keeping track of my daily reading), the app asks if I want to replace the existing one, as it should. But if I answer Yes, it doesn't replace the existing one. It stays the same as it was. The only way to replace it is to delete it and re-add it. Not acceptable.

Do you have plans to add the annotation/highlighting function to the TouchPad version that is on others?

Also, the copy function only being able to select a whole screen, page or document instead of being able to select the text you want makes it almost unusable (although it is better than nothing).

Yes, we are looking to add text selection capability so that we can also add annotation and selective copying to a future update.

has anyone else had this issue? When loading the documents, isilo freezes sometimes. It requires a complete device restart. You cannot exit the app like normal. I'm gonna try and open it now so I can tell you how many documents I have in there. But I'm gonna post this first just in case it crashes my device. Is there anyone else experiencing this. It does the same thing on my wifes touchpad. So I wonder if it is the app or maybe one of the docs?

I found another bug in iSilo on the TP.
If you are in a book, rotate the TP to portrait and turn on Lock Rotation, then when you rotate the device back toward landscape, iSilo tries to go back to landscape. So the top three quarters of the screen become wide (with text going off the edges) and the bottom quarter is frozen.

This is similar to the problem that occured on an early version of the Pre2 app, where the screen would have the bottom part freeze because the top part was trying to rotate to landscape. You fixed that in a later version by eliminating the code that would try to rotate iSilo (so the app on that device doesn't go to landscape at all).
The fix on the TP should be almost as simple, if you can code the app to stop trying to rotate when Lock Rotation is turned on.

Of course, if you never turn on Lock Rotation, this isn't an issue. So I guess until you fix it I'll just not do it.
