iSiloX 4.15 crashes upon start
- iSiloX 4.15 (freshly installed)
- Windows XP, SP2, newest patches
- Pocket PC 2003 SE as target
Since a couple of days iSiloX crashes upon start - nothing more to report about the problem itself.
I've run 4.01 and then 4.15 since >1 year right now, but since a couple of days it simply crashes when I try to start it. It might be possible, that my XP has dl'ed and installed new security patches some days ago, but I simply don't know if this is the reason.
I've tried to reinstall 4.15, then to remove and install again, finally to remove it and install 4.01, but it's always the same mess now (darn Bill....).
Thankfull for any hint, as I'm really MISSING my daily morning news reading in the tube...,-)

No problems on XP SP2
There should be no problems with running iSiloX on XP SP2. Make sure that you have plenty of free space on your C: drive.
It could also be possible that some corruption in your .ixl file or in the registry may be causing the problem. So you might also try making a backup copy of your .ixl file and then deleting it from its original location. Then try starting iSiloX again.
If that doesn't work, you could try making a backup of the iSiloX registry entry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\iSilo\iSiloX and then deleting it. Then try starting iSiloX again.

iSiloX creashes upon start -> Me too
I have the same problem as is mentioned by Soeren:
Before iSiloX was working just fine. I enjoyed the program. The one day the program didn't start anymore.
The application starts (according to the Windows Task Manager), but no output or error messages.
After a while the isilox.exe program is no longer listed in the task manager and the Windows Event Viewer shows an application error:
"Faulting application isilox.exe, version 4.2.5.2, faulting module isilox.exe, version 4.2.5.2, fault address 0x00012c7d."
I have tried uninstalling iSiloX and iSilo. But no luck, then I repeated the uninstall and also removed all the registry settings and deleted any file in the \Program Files\iSilo directory.
But after a reinstall the same problem.
As far as I know, I didn't install any other software and so I agree with Soeren: Maybe something to do with an (automatic) Windows Update?
Any help is really really appreciated !!

Hi gang!
Just wanted to add my weight to this problem. Seems to be associated with recent update of IE. Was working fine before that. As soon as I click iSiloX button on toolbar, IE just shuts down.
Hope that some of the boffins here can fix this one.
Cheers guys. Keep up the good work.
Dave.
