Tungsten T5
I've been using iSilo to open a large(140+meg) document off my sd card on a Tungsten E for the last few months. It worked great. I just got a Tungsten T5 and this document is incredibly slow. Closing the document is the worst, it takes up to 35 seconds. I would have expected the opposite from a much faster machine. I upgraded to iSilo v.4.15 and the same happens. I have tried running the document from internal and sd card memory: same. What should I do to get the proper performance?

the slowness comes probalby from the new T5 memory, which is a flash memory. users of other tools such as agendus report the same issues http://support.iambic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11625

I am also having the same problem with closing a large file (140M). Is there a way to turn off the feature where iSilo save document preferences to maybe speed this up? I have no problems on smaller files up to about 10M.

T5-sd
Ok, I have also, a (T5) and I use "iSilo 4.0", I use files as larch as 140MB, many of the friends have the same treble, some said is the “flash memory”, others T5, Q- has any one use, SD (32X) speed, to see if made difference? Any upgrades for the “iSilo 4.0” I have try the 4.5, but I didn’t like as well, any suggestions?

I don't have a T5 to experiment with, but common sense suggests that if a database were opened in dmReadOnly mode, it shouldn't have to be written back to flash. Does iSilo open docs in dmReadOnly mode, or does it need to modify them in some way?

Next update
A change to the iSilo caching mechanism is under development to address the issue of long closing times for large documents located on storage cards on devices that have NVFS, which currently includes the Tungsten T5 and Treo 650.

T5 iSilo 4.15 Blues
Crashes 1/4 of the time with my largest files. Also crashes when I'm using the widescreen feature. I can't wait for a version that addressess these problems.

Crashes when you turn off power
I've finally figured it out. I use I silo all day with a T5 and a very large file on external card and noticed the following:
1) It takes a long time to close the file.
2) If you power off the device with the large file opens, isilo crashes the machine which needs a soft reset
3) I still have unexplained crashes after hotsync and seemingly randomly which I think may be due to isilo.

Version 4.2
If you haven't yet, give version 4.2 a try.

Version 4.2 Solved the problems
Just installed V4.2 on top of V4.15. I briefly tested it. So far it solved the crashing upon turning off machine, fullscreen view crash, and sped up closing the document. So Far So Good. Good Job iSilo!
