Thread: Request for non-iSilo output format

Default Request for non-iSilo output format

I've been using iSiloX as my download and doc creator software for a long time, and it rocks, I've never found anything that comes anywhere close to it, and I've looked.

The problem is, I don't just use devices that can run iSilo anymore I waited to get an iPhone until it had iSilo on it, but somehow I doubt my Kindle or Nook will ever run it.

So, could we get the option to output ePub or some other eBook format that can easily be converted to use on eInk readers? I'd be more than willing to pay for that feature since I wouldn't need to buy the reader anymore then.

And if not direct support in iSiloX, allow a commandline option for iSilo to convert to ePub or something?

I'd just like to get my iSilo docs on my eBook readers, and some of the source content just doesn't exist anymore. If it matters, I'm using Calibre to manage my content for my readers.

    Thanks

I just found this info about Calibre.

calibre supports the conversion of many input formats to many output formats. It can convert every input format in the following list, to every output format.

Input Formats: CBZ, CBR, CBC, EPUB, FB2, HTML, LIT, LRF, MOBI, ODT, PDF, PRC**, PDB, PML, RB, RTF, TCR, TXT

Output Formats: EPUB, FB2, OEB, LIT, LRF, MOBI, PDB, PML, RB, PDF, TCR, TXT

** PRC is a generic format, calibre supports PRC files with TextRead and MOBIBook headers

One thought crossed my mind. You could use Calibre to convert a document to LIT, which is the same format that Microsoft Reader uses. You could then use a utility to convert the LIT to HTML, which then could be used by iSiloX. Here are some utilities for converting LIT to HTML:

    http://www.processtext.com/abclit.html

    http://www.convertlit.com

    Hope this helps.

I don't need to convert stuff INTO iSilo, but OUT of it.

I have a ton of pre-existing iSilo docs I'd like to get into Calibre

Can't be done. The iSilo file format does NOT contain the structure you need. It was removed by iSiloX in the compile process.

Perhaps someone has hacked the version of Android the Nook runs on and you can install the Android version of iSilo.
