Post Barnes & Noble nook e-Reader

    The review at Gizmag
http://www.gizmag.com/barnes-and-nob...ereader/13174/ states the "Nook" is "Powered by Android 1.5"

So it sounds like iSilo would work on it.

    Any thoughts?

    Arrow Third-party applications

Our guess is that the Nook will probably not initially provide the user the ability to install third-party applications. If it did, there would most likely be compatibility issues. So we would need to wait for Barnes & Noble to make available an SDK.

Though there has been hints about an SDK from B&N one reference to such is here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/10...ook_open_hint/

I do doubt they will have any hurry to do that as the whole idea is to make money from this device from the media you sell to it, opening up an SDK would only limit that unless done in an iTunes & iPhone fashion but with Android being the open source it is, who knows.

    Cool working

I have installed iSilo in a rooted Nook Touch, and works quite right. Some menu items aren't readable. It would be great if it supported e-ink screens' partial refresh. More info can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1183173

Could you help me to make "document list view" show the name of the files? I only can see the icons in the document list view, can not see any text in it when I want to change book (document).

yes I have the same problem .I can only see the icons , pls ~~
I think if you can add an option to change the background of the list view, that would be okay.

    thanks for your help!

    Question

    Folks,

I find myself in the same circumstances. I have a rooted Nook Touch and have purchased iSilo for Android. I used the Single User License Additions option at
    http://store.isilo.com/index.php?Page=SUAD

It works, as the other posters have said the document list won't let me see titles of the files. That is workable, I limited myself to just a few iSilo files in the top folder of the microSD card.

I am having trouble figuring out how to increase the size of text but I haven't used iSilo for Android prior to this, so the control is likely buried someplace I am not expecting.

Ideas? suggestions? for dealing with these two issues?

Also does anyone have a quick method for getting from the Nook's internal menus and library back to iSilo or a screen where one can start iSilo?

Thanks that works. However I found on my Nook Touch that even selecting "Largest" did not get me a a large font.

As I have since learned there is also a SECOND place to adjust the size.

    Set magnification

For my Nook touch I have the font size set to medium with magnification set to 2x. Works well for me.

The iSilo folks have fixed this in release 6.05

    http://www.isilo.com/info/revhist.htm states
Added support for the NOOK Simple Touch's E Ink screen by forcing user interface components to display text in black when running on that device.
I've installed 6.05 on my Nook Touch and it works!!! I can see all the document names. : )

Available through the appstores or at
    http://www.isilo.com/download/iSiloA...#installViaOTA

I love the way iSilo supports all these various devices. Now I just wish the we could have iSilo formatted files included on the official cd-rom every year.
