Can't map network drive through Vista to iSilo installed on my iPhone 3G
I've followed the step-by-step directions to map a Z drive to the server address shown in the file server view on my iphone and nothing is working. My computer replies that the network path is typed incorrectly or does not exist and that I need to contact my network administrator or my internet service provider.
I am using my home wireless connection, and the iphone and VISTA PC are both hooked up to it. I tried both server addresses provided and neither work. What else can I try?

Same subnet?
What is the IP address of your computer (type ipconfig in a command-line window) and what is the server address indicated on your device?

Right now I'm at school so I'm on a different network. I tried to map a drive here and had the same problem and error message as at home.
The IP address is: 128.120.123.55
The server address in iSilo: http://128.120.123.53:8080
I'll have to check what the IP address is at home later. The server address in iSilo was: http://168.192.1.5:8080 ... although I had tried a few different times, and once it had a 3 instead of a 5 in the place before the colon, then the phone changed it's mind back to 5.

Same subnet
The first three dotted numbers are the same indicating that the computer and device are on the same subnet, which is good so far.
With iSilo in the File Server View, use a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer) and try to go to the http address shown in that view. Also, in case it is not obvious that it should be so, make sure that your device is on. Do you see any listing in the browser after entering the address of your device?

So I am at home today and the IP address for my computer is 192.168.1.3
The one on my iPhone in the File Server view of the iSilo program is http://192.168.1.6:8080 (so it's different than yesterday when it was a 5 in that last position)
I tried inputing the last address into a web browser and it said "403 Forbidden"

Details
What type of WiFi router do you have?
Are you sure your iPhone is on your own WiFi network and not possibly on a neighbor's network?
-
I have a Netgear Wireless-G Router 54 MBps (2.4 GHz, 802.11g)
ISP is Comcast Cable
Yes, I am sure my phone is connected on the same wireless network as the computer.

ping
You probably have a firewall or something blocking the access.
With iSilo on your iPhone in its File Server View, do the following on your Vista machine:- In the Start menu's search box, enter cmd and then hit Enter to get a command-line window.
- In the command line window type "ping 192.168.1.6", without the quotes and replacing the IP address with what the File Server View shows as the IP address of your iPhone, and then hit Enter.
Does the output give a set lines that start with "Reply" or does it say "Request timed out"?
