Default Recovery Version of the Bible

    Greetings,

Do any of you have specific instructions for getting the electronic edition Recovery Version of the Bible into isilo using the itouch?

Currently I have managed to download a pdb file into isilo called "Holy Bible Recovery Version" but when it is opened there is just a lot of computer code.

I was expecting something more enlightening!

    Thanks

    Randall

    Arrow iSilo version?

Is the Bible publication you downloaded the one published by Living Stream Ministry or is from someone else?

While viewing the document, go to More/Document Information. In the Information screen that appears, what Type of file does it say it is? The Type field is the middle line in the "Date, Type, and Size" section.

    Arrow 2KB sounds too small

2KB and unknown file type indicates that you did not get the file downloaded right.

If Living Stream Ministry provided you with a link on their website to download the .pdb file, then doing it from their website would be the easiest way to download the file.

    Thanks for that.
After work today I will delete the file "HolyBibleRecoveryVersion.pdb from isilo and try it again.

There is a thread here called, " Super easy way to transfer files..."
I used that method and when asked by isilo, I entered:

    and did not enter:

    "http//147.20.158.161/Holy%20Bible%20Recovery%20Version.pdb"

    Maybe that was my mistake?

    Thanks again for your help,

    Randall

    Day 3.
    Adventures in Bible acquisition.

I deleted the old file for HolyBibleRecoveryVersion.pdb

I tried using the LSM provided link, same results.

Then I tried the 30+ steps spelled out in the
"How to transfer files to iSilo™ for iPhone OS on Windows Vista"
I came to step 34 for a screen shot mismatch.

There, under the download appears an URL from another failed attempt:
    http://www.isilo.com/iPhone/iSilo/
and below that the web page.

When I override the URL with myIPaddress/iSilo and press "done" we enter into the spinning-wheel-icon-zone for a while and that's it.

    The above web page remains.
And at the bottom of that page is an advertisement for "case mate" So I clicked on it and lo and behold that link worked, and is now seemingly a permanent part of a "Downloads" history.

    But no Bible

    Further Adventures in iSilo land.
Lets see, I was advised to update the itouch software so I did a refresh.

    Same result with Bible software.

The LSM Bible people emailed and asked if I had a good iSilo, so I deleted it and reinstalled iSilo.

    Same results.

So then I tried that CIA factbook just to see if it would work and I got the same result, just code.

So thats where I am. The CIA factbook comes back after few seconds like its all done and just gives me html code.

So I can download web pages
I can download pdb files and they come back as html code.
LSM pdb files from different sources have the same results.

    out of ideas

    Default How to

This is how get the greatest Bible

    1. Start iSilo.
    2. In iSilo's document list view, tap the More (...) button in the upper right.
    3. In the List Menu that appears, tap Download
    4. In the Download view, let the iSilo iPhone home page finish loading, then scroll down to the religion section near the bottom. Click the link there that takes you to the Living Stream Ministry home page for the Holy Bible Recovery Version.
    5. On the Living Stream Ministry page, click the last item in the left column that says "DOWNLOAD The Electronic Edition of the Holy Bible Recovery Version".
    6. This take you to a page with a link to download the .pdb file. The link is in Step 1 on that page right after the text "iPhone users can download the Holy Bible Recovery Version .pdb file from". Click the link that follows that text on that page. (I added the following) The link will load, then clink the link one more time and it will download.

    7. At this point I got on a computer and went to the Living Stream Ministry site and bought a copy for $40 and they gave me a license.

    8. Open the Recovery Version in iSilo and enter your license
