    Default iSilo 1.15 funny behavior

    I installed the update.

OK, I do not see much what plus it brings, but never mind.

However a problem has appeared. When in full screen mode, when I slide to get the next page, I get a blank screen... If I touch the bottom of the screen to get the option bar, the text comes back where I was previously. I had never experienced that thing with the previous version.

BTW, when can we expect tapping on the screen to work consistently? I use the double tap, but it is much of hit and miss. Sometimes it will work, sometimes nothing happens. and since I upgraded to 1.15, it's gone for good. Please pretty please

The main change is the drag and flick scrolling, which has been entirely reworked in order to make it work more smoothly on the device.

This problem may be specific to the document. If the document is not too large, would you be able to email it to us so that we can try to reproduce the problem and issue a fix? If the file is no more than several megabytes, you can email it to .

That's probably because the problem is a side effect of the entirely reworked scrolling implementation, which is likely to have introduced some new bugs.

We expect to add tapping functionality officially in a future update, hopefully not too far off.

    iSilo, thanks for the reply.

I tried with a few books 300-400KB files and same thing happen. Even worst, this afternoon the program locked the machine, and I had to reset.

Never happened with previous releases. I regret that I updated,

I also regret to have upgraded to 1.15. It is downgrading, not upgrading. The scrolling is not smooth. The most useful touch screen buttons have gone. Isilo must do something to rectify it urgently. Is there any way to restore it to 1.1?

Actually aside from having some issues installing it (see last post here http://forum.isilo.com/showthread.php?t=4853 ) which could've been related to my jailbroken device or the fact that I had American Heritage dict installed (which is recommended with the newest firmware only), iSilo 1.15 is a NICE improvement when it comes to scrolling it is now like all the other iPhone apps on mine.

Thumbs down Funny behavior after upgrading

    Hello there,

I have also experienced some strange behavior after upgrading.

Has anybody sent a sample file to the isilo group?

If no, I will try to recreate the issue with a small file and send it for examination.

The user "justme" reported that he is not experiencing any of these issues, and that he is able to see the features of a file that requires the recent update.

Does that mean iSilo on the iPhone is more sensitive, or non-permissive than in other versions?

Apparently, either very few people are experiencing these issues, or very few people have upgraded to 1.1.5.

I figure out how to restore to 1.1. First go to the itunes folder from My Music folder. Then you will find the Mobile Applications folder where you will find 2 iSilos files. Remove the most updated one from the folder. Now you can double click the 1.1 version iSilos file. The iTunes program should now pop up. The 1.1 version will be installed into the iPod after you sync it.

I am not sure what you're asking exactly (I'm no expert on expressing myself nor reading and understanding other people's comments so "it's me not you" ) but I am mre than glad to try to help in any way I can with my own input. I do think there is a wide variety of users on the iPhones, with first generation, second generation, some jailbroken (hacked open on the sw side of things) some not and with a variety of level of firmware versions. Secondly there is the different ways you can download the iSilo, iTunes and directly on the iPhone itself. To add even more "factors" the equation there is the variety of ways people have installed/downloaded their .pdb files be it on a jailbroken or not device.

Now with all this you have the fact that both the iPhone (& iPod Touch) and the iSilo are fairly new and in that sense in a kind of BETA state, so let's share as much info we can with each other to support each other and iSilo on trying to resolve any and all issues there might be.

All in all (despite the installing issues I had which I strongly believe had to do with the dictionary and NOT iSilo) and the lack of tap scroll my iSilo 1.15 is working fine and I use a 155 M file most of the time. Now I am not saying it has never crashed it might have I can't recall but then my iPhone has crashed in the past in any application but nothing it does regurlarly.

Well iSilo has indicated that there is new version in the works, when we'll just have to wait I guess. As for hot-link mismatching, are you sure about that? The blank screens I've seen a few times but it's typically only for a very short time.

    Arrow Updated submitted

We just submitted an update today (to be version 1.2), which we expect to solve the majority of the quirks related to the overhaul of the scrolling implementation that was introduced in version 1.15.

The other major change in the just submitted version 1.2 update is the addition of WebDAV support for transferring files both from and to the device, which will make file transfer easier for many.

Each of the two previous update submissions (v. 1.1 and v. 1.15) took just over a week for Apple to review, so we're expecting this latest update to be available in a little over a week's time too.
