I, too am unable to read my chinese documents in isilo...
OK, apologies right from the get-go...I do NOT do well with electronic devices and have probably made a remarkably basic error here...
I can't read the simplified chinese document I've installed in my isilo list. Unlike other users whose posts I've read, the text comes up, not as empty boxes, but as letters, mostly vowels with non-English western european phonetic symbols (umblats and tieldaes and what have you.) When I go to Edit > Document Information> Text Encoding, it says gb2312.
I'm able to view other chinese characters on my palm TX, in a dictionary I've got installed, but not in isilo (I've got version 4.32)
Could it be something as simple as my neglecting to install a chinese-enabling feature when I was purchasing isilo? What to do???
Thanks for your patience!

I had the same problem...I just played around with a small file until I got the encoding right.
I use Isilox to convert the documents. There are two different simplifed encoding systems, and one traditional system. Try them all and see what happens.
