    Default Expansion Card PATHS please

pleaes forgive the rant but i'm so tired of having to search developer's knowledge bases and forums for this basic bit of info:

where do you need to put the .pdb files on an expansion card manually to be recongnized by the program?

most of what i've seen here suggests "it's automatic" but that's not the case.

currently my isilo .pdb files are in:

    /Palm/Books/

along with those for e-reader. they are not recognized by iSilo 4.x

I do NOT want to keep them all disorganized in /Palm/Launcher/

Default ok solved partially with upgrade but...

I was using iSilo 4.01. Just upgraded to 4.28, which is completely different in terms of file management. i see it's a lot more flexible.

    however new problems:

/Palm/Programs/iSilo is a default favorite folder.

However it appears to use that folder on the SD Card, not on the life drive. apparently does not scan multiple cards. is there any way to specify to look on the lifedrive?

Apparently there's also no way to ADD a favorite folder, only to rename them??

and is there a way to filter only iSilo documents out of a folder? right now it appears to list all files of any kind in that folder.

I have not used the Lifedrive, but I would guess that the answer is the same to both. While navigating the "Device & Storage Cards" tab (the last one in the Documents view), tap on the folder icon and select "Favorite Folder Alias" to add that folder as a Favorite.

If you were not aware, the iSilo manual is available online.

I believe this has come up before. The problem is that in order to filter the documents, iSilo would have to open up and read each file. Since this operation is extremely slow on external storage devices (especially on the LifeDrive's microdrive), users are expected to place only iSilo documents in iSilo folders.
Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription ... is more cowbell!

    Arrow Across all volumes

When you go to a favorite folder, it will list the contents of that favorite folder across all volumes. So in the case of the LifeDrive, when you go to the Favorite Folders view and select to list the iSilo (e.g. alias for /Palm/Programs/iSilo) favorite folder, it will list the files in the /Palm/Programs/iSilo folder of the LifeDrive as well as the /Palm/Programs/iSilo folder of the SD card.

If you use the Device & Storage cards view, it is like a file browser and only lists contents within the directory in which you navigated to, so please note the difference between the views.

To add a favorite folder, use the Favorite Folder Alias folder operation available when you tap the folder icon of the folder you want to add as a favorite folder.

To modify the filtering, go to the Options menu and tap Document Types.

You can find all these answers and additional details on the "document list view" page of the iSilo manual.

Thanks for the info. It's helpful.

The manual is a little confusing.

It would help to add this:

The default iSilo favorites folder is:
    /Palm/Programs/iSilo/

However you may store iSilo documents anywhere you like and create your own customized storage folders.
