Sub-Categories?

I tried to figure out the use of sub-categories but couldn't. They are being displayed in the same hierarchy as the 'main' categories.

What is the use of sub-categories?

You can use sub-categories to further divide your categories. A scenario where this would be useful is if you had a category to which many files belongs, for example Novels, and you wanted to further divide those documents, for example, into Science-Fiction, Thrillers, Romance, etc. But if a single level of categories is sufficient for you, there is of course no need for you to define sub-categories.

To create a sub-category within a category, select the category under which you want the sub-category created, then tap New. In the New Category dialog, check Sub-category. If no category is selected before you tap New, then the category is created at the top level regardless of whether or not you check the Sub-category checkbox in the New Category dialog. So again, if you want to create a sub-category within a category, first select the category in which you want to create the sub-category, then tap New. The sub-category will appear indented in the list under the category of which it is a sub-category.
