Howdy.

Usually I wait until the betas are over before downloading the release, but this time I just had to test out the features.

I love the color scheme thing. It's very neat to be able to customize the look of a page. How do you feel about making the color theme visible in the list view? For instance, if I wanted all of my News channels to be yellow on purple, or my eBooks to be white on black, I could easily differentiate and see them in list view. It might look too crazy and colorful, but it might look cool.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the new features of 4.25b1 for the Mac was the ability to make plain text/HTML RSS feeds readable ("Added recognition of text/plain RSS content.") If I understand that right, the channels that I was having a problem with before are not improved by this beta. Attached are the selected channels in ZIP format for your perusal. Maybe I mis-understood the feature.

Another feature I'd love to see in iSilo is "Hot Corners" where we can assign a function to a screen-tap in the corners (in lieu of shoulder button functionality on the Zodiac.) My old eBook reader, DeepReader, had it and it was great to allow one of the corners to turn on Auto-Scroll. Every time I try to Auto-Scroll in iSilo, it turns itself off when I make the page Full-Screen (either by assigned button or by menu-tap.)

Keep up the great work. It's wonderful to have a great piece of software that's being constantly improved and not being ignored by it's developers.

Updated: Apparently this latest beta of iSiloX 4.25b1 for Mac isn't saving my new .IXL files like it should be. I'll just have to enter the addresses in by hand.

Plus, I get this error message whenever I try to encode this channel.

Unsupported content type: http://feeds.feedburner.com/arstechnica/BAaf

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Also, is this the best place to post feedback specifically for the Betas? I looked over the forums and this seemed like a good place to start, but if there's a dedicated Beta Feedback section I'll go there next time. Thanks.

The set of URLs you gave all convert fine with iSiloX 4.25b1 on Mac OS X. Double-check the About box for the version number to be sure you have version 4.25b1 installed.

The issue with the feedburner.com conversion is a bug in iSiloX with regard to improperly handling the <?xml-stylesheet> instructions in that particular file. This issue will be addressed in the next update to the beta.

It appears that I didn't have the correct form of iSiloX chosen (4.2 instead of 4.25b1) and now it seems to be doing the right thing. Thanks for pointing it out.

On to the issue with autoscroll, am I turning it on right? I go to the menu and tap autoscroll, and then try to go fullscreen (either via menu or button press) and the autoscroll stops. Does auto scroll only work with not-fullscreen mode?

I know you mentioned somewhere that you didn't have a hardware Zodiac to play iSilo on, but you were using an emulator. Has that changed at all? I ask because the buttons are unique and it'd be great to utilize more functionality in this great program. Do you have plans to introduce the shoulder buttons or differentiate the joystick from the right-hand buttons and give us Zodiac users even more customability?

Thanks for such a powerful program.

Autoscroll works in full-screen mode ... but it stops when you tap the screen or hit a button. I have a hardware key dedicated to autoscroll (the same one that opens iSilo, actually) so that, while in full-screen, I can start/stop scrolling without issue.

Additional button support is under consideration for a future update.

I'm glad to hear that iSilo is considering future button updates. I'm not sure what PDA you have, Voltage Spike, but my buttons aren't pressable. On my "old" T|T and T|3 I could designate my buttons, but on the Z2 only the joystick directions are programmable.

Right now, I have UP = default, DOWN = default, LEFT = Fullscreeen, and RIGHT = Next Page. If I couuld program the buttons, I'd assign them to AutoScroll, Home, Close and Hyperlink. (And if the shoulder buttons were available I might never leave the house...:D )

Thanks again guys for your inputs. I'm glad to support a software that supports me.
