I'd like to get the articles from this page, but nothing in the left navigation pane... Is there an easier way to do this than to filter all of the links (50 or 60) to the left...?

Exclude everything using "*", then include "http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi*" should do it.
