Hi there
Find the font size rather large, normally use 'smallest' size when using PPC version. On the UIQ beta, I can't find the option to reduce text size. If I go to Edit/Options Isilo closes.
Suggestions?
Thanks

The setting for the font size is under Edit/Options/Display/Font.
What model device are you using?

Motorola A1000, yup, I read the manual, but for some reason as soon as I get as far as selecting Edit/Options Isilo closes. It does the same thing with some other menu options. So I can't get as far as aEdit/Options/Display/Font

"iSilo for Symbian UIQ" is currently only available for the P800, P900, and P910 Symbian UIQ devices. It has not been tested on other Symbian UIQ devices, so unfortunately there are probably compatibility issues with the A1000.

Do you have plans to update Isilo to work on the Motorola A series? I think quite a few have been sold, and I have to say I'm not eager to buy a product with these basic glitches!
It's such a shame, Isilo is a fantastic resource.

You should not make the purchase if it does not work on your device.
If we can get our hands on the devices, then we can do some testing to see what we can do to get it working, but without the devices, it's pretty much impossible to figure out. Do you know a reputable online reseller that sells the A1000 for a good price?

Difficult to recommend where to buy one, they tend to come in contract packages, though I bought mine from onestopphoneshop.com, for a total yearly cost of £290.
Alternatively, you could try to pick up an A925. It's hardware architecture is pretty much identical to the A1000, as is its OS (I'm pretty sure), it's just older and cheaper. You can get them on Ebay for £50, again it's hard to recommend a place where you can just buy the phone.
Hope this helps.
I might try to get some sales figures for the Motorola UIQ devices, if that'll help!

The next version update, version 4.25, just entered the beta1 test stage. One of the issues it fixes is a KERN-EXEC error message when starting iSilo when it is installed on a memory card. It's possible that problem could be related to the problems on the A1000. If you can, please give the 4.25 beta (http://www.iSilo.com/info/beta/index.htm) a try and let us know whether the issues you saw in version 4.2 are still there with regard to it closing when you access the menu commands.

Hi,
I've installed it and I'm afraid there is no improvement whatsoever. Thanks for trying though.

Hi,
Maybe this could help:
"Motorola A925 SDK
The Motorola A925 Software Development Kit (SDK) is a tool used for developing and testing programs written for the Motorola A925. Currently the only 3G UIQ Symbian handset, the Motorola A925 Multimedia Communicator is capable of running C++ and J2ME™ applications at WCDMA speeds...cut"
It contains A925 emulator and can be downloaded from www.motocoder.com
