I am having a problem with Isilo. It seems when I open a document from my storage card, it creates a folder on my device main memory in the "my documents" folder, i.e. my device\My Documents\isilo\settings\filename. Then when I sync my PDA to my PC these files are all copied to my PC, and then if I update the file on my PDA another copy, ie my device\My Documents\islo\settings\changed copy of filename is written. Pretty soon I have got hundreds of files syncing back and forth. I have learned to delete the isilo folder from both my PDA and my PC prior to syncing to avoid this problem. Is there any way to prevent files being copied this way when I open documents from my storage card? And why does isilo create a folder called "isilo" and copy the documents I have read from my storage card into it?

The \My Documents\iSilo\Settings directory is where iSilo stores settings. For each document you open, iSilo creates a file in that file named similar to the file name of the opened file in which to store the document's settings. Examples of settings include the last location you were at before closing the document, link history, local bookmarks, etc. The file is not a copy of the file you opened, as you'll notice by the very small file size. By default, a maximum of 100KB total is used for the document settings for all documents. When the maximum is exceeded, iSilo deletes older settings files. You can control this maximum through Tools/Options/Settings from iSilo's document list view. If you really don't want a document's settings saved, then you can also specify that they not be saved.

Just to expand on what iSilo said, you can decrease the total size of all document settings to reduce the number of files. Furthermore, ActiveSync should be intelligent enough to copy only those files that have altered (i.e., those related to the documents you are reading).

If you are seeing "hundreds of files syncing back and forth" and you are not reading hundreds of documents between syncs, then you are experiencing a bug. I rather suspect that you will find this is not the case if you check the logs.

Thanks guys,
I did what Isilo suggested and I'm no longer syncing all these files by changing the Tools/Settings/Local settings to Do not save. What was happening was that the files I was looking at were being copied to the My Documents folder and was being added to my sync list. I read a bunch of web clips every day and as I was doing this, the files kept changing to "changed copy of filename", etc. I had several hundred of this files, albeit small files each and couldn't understand where they were coming from. Again thanks to all.
