I would use iSilo mainly to access scriptures and other church materials on my (HP Jornada 720) HandHeld PC. If it works out, iSilo would replace MarkMyScriptures and the older EZ Reader in this capacity. I really like iSilo; it's better than the other but for one thing. In MarkMyScriptures and even the older EZ Reader, I can zero in on the passage I want, selecting the book, (example: Matthew) the chapter and the verse before opening anything. This speeds the process of opening to a particular passage, compared to iSilo, which apparently opens the entire work (the New Testament for example) and then requires me to use the search engine or worse, the scroll bar, to find the book, chapter and verse I want. Has anyone figured out how to move quickly to a particular passage in really larbe works like the Holy Bible? If I can get this one hurdle, I think iSilo is a dramatic improvement over the others.
Thanks.
Frank.

You could, with a not-insignificant amount of work, set up a series of menus as seen in the display sample (http://isilo.com/support/sample/iSiloDisplaySample/menus/basic.htm).
In this scenario, you would have a home page with a drop-down menu for the book. The book selection would link to a page of verse menus.
This might appear daunting at first, but a script may be able to generate all of these web pages with a minimal amount of effort.
The primary limitation (and I'm not familiar with the other software you mention) is the use of drop-down menus as opposed to entering the information as a number. This is simply a style change that groups "plain" links together.

Actually i am doing something just like what you suggested.
Check out 2001 Translation (http://ns2.peerlessnet.com/bible/2001mobile/). I used menus and separate pages for the books and web bookmarks to get to the specific scripture.

You should try the latest version of the scriptures I compiled. There are hyperlinks set up for books, chapters, verses, and footnotes. It uses external document linking and is fast. You can download the scripture files free of charge from my website.

Frank,
I use a bible that someone else made, NWT, what they did was make a home page that listed all the bible books in order.
Each Bible book has a home page that lists each chapter by number.
Each Chapter has a home page that lists each verse by number.

I am trying to set up some drop-down menus on a main contents page for the scriptures by following your sample. I am using one menu for the basic scripture files and additional menus for each category of church documents I carry (maps, photos, magazines, etc.). The code works just fine for the first drop-down menu I create. However, when I try creating additional drop-down menus on the same page, only the first one works.
In Dreamweaver, I tried inserting jump menus. The list of document show up. However, they don't open up the ebooks. It also is unable to read URLS with leading dots such as ..\nt\nt.html, which I need for external document linking. The external link in iSiloX has nt/ as the prefix for New Testament.
How do we get more than one drop-down menu to work on the same page? Thanks for your help in advance.
