Problems with Categories

I love this feature but, I loose the categorization so much that its not worth the effort anymore, I am trying to categorize over 1500 ebooks, it seems if there is a problem with synching or if isilo locks up and I reset the unit it seems to revert back to everything "Uncategorized", I don't loose my categories, would like to see a feature to backup and restore this db, I had good luck in earlier versions with backing up and resynching the iSiloDocSettingsDB, has these files been moved elsewhere? I'm currently running 4.2b2 but have same problems with earlier versions, would really like to get this feature locked down so I don't have to repeat this work again!

It wouldn't explain the loss of all category data, but have you tried playing with the size of the database? (I believe you can reach it through the "Settings" menu in the document view.) The default size of 100K won't be large enough for so many documents.

Also, why don't you specify the default category for the document when creating it? If you specify the Default Category (under Document Properties/Document in iSiloX), then the category becomes a part of the document and shouldn't be lost. While you are only limited to a single Default Category, it would be better than Uncategorized.
