View Full Version : iSilo eats my renamed files

I'm using iSilo 4.15 on a Sony Clie SJ33.

I download web pages to my memory stick for later reading. I downloaded some pages from Jeannette Winterson's web site. They were named

Jeanette Winterson 1
Jeanette Winterson 2
Jeanette Winterson 3

I liked the first one and wanted to save it with a slightly changed name. So I clicked on the file icon, selected rename and changed

Jeanette Winterson 1.pdb

to

Jeanette Winterson - USA

Click OK and iSilo accepted it (sometimes it doesn't accept even the simplest renamed file, but that's a different support message).

That blamed Updating List... box pops up and scans the directory ... and Jeanette Winterson - USA is gone. I don't see it when I select [All], and it certainly appears to have been vaporized.

This is an intermittent and I can't for the life of me determine how to begin troubleshooting it. Has anyone seen this problem?

Thanks -- Mike

My bad. After writing the message, I used Filez to check the iSilo directory and saw that, yes, the file was there and I had deleted the .PDB extension. I added .PDB and, lo, iSilo displayed the file.

Note to self: Never post a support mail after 11:30 pm.
