Dear iSilo staff,

I am a avid user of your program and i love it. However, i was wondering, if i update my iPhone to version 4, will i lose all the documents i have on my phone? As we all know, its not easy transferring a huge number of documents to the iPhone since there is no way to access the files of an iPhone. I really want to update my phone however, I am worried i have to go through that painful exercise of downloading the documents one by one, and re categorizing them.

If i cannot keep my documents, i will not update my phone.

Please advice thank you.

You would need to connect your device to your computer, connect to iSilo's File Server mode, and copy the entire top-level including the Settings folder to your computer. After you have made a backup in that way, you can install iOS 4, install iSilo, then copy the files back to iSilo.

ok i see what this is doing, this will still require me to copy the files one by one and return them back one by one. i have over 200 iSilo files. this is very tedious to do. there is no other way of doing this?

It sounds like you are maybe trying to do it through a Web browser.

What you need to do is connect to it using your computer as if it were a network drive. Go to the faq (http://www.isilo.com/support/faq.htm) and look at the answer to the question "How do I transfer files to my iPhone/iPod touch for viewing with iSilo™?".
