It would be nice to be able to highlight text as there are many people creating informational databases in my field. There is much studying and answering of questions and having the option to highlight text so as to remember the main points of a subject would be awesome.
On a second note, being able to change background and text colors would be nice too.

I find that the bookmark feature works well for "highlighting" text (by default, the name of the bookmark is the text at that mark). If the iSilo developers adds the ability to copy/export the bookmarks (as has been requested before), it would be even better.
As for colors, there are some workarounds.

While the bookmark feature is very usefull, it is NOT the same as highlighting. Being able to highlight certain points would be extremly usefull. Then while re-reading over your documents, the important points will stick out easily.

I subscribe - the one feature I miss from iSilo (and found and been regretfully using in repligo for instance) is
- higlighting
- better commenting management
for better annotation.
If it you be possible to export to desktop the comments/higlights/bookmarks I think that this would be a great addition to iSilo, allowing it to reach markets that for PDA not even Adobe/Repligo did try to cover: for instance annotation/correcting/checking/studying on the go...
I think this would trully be a greatest addition following these great features
- image map/lossy jpeg
- cross linking documents
- inline document drop-down menus (that allows for solving quizzes on the go, a feature not yet marketed to its full potential)

In my oppinion the best approach for annotation/highligthing would be the ability to create a new file from isilo (with this extra data from the user) that somehow would be connected to the original document. This extra annotation file would be very easy to be exported back from PDA to PC, and I guess would solve the problems that come from modifying a large isilo file. That file should only have some linking information, and the iSilo reader would somehow try to manage them both files (the document to be read and the annotation file, highlighting and marking comments as necessary).
I really hope this (or any other aproach) would become reality - since I apreciate very much iSilo and it would greatly help me. hope my "advice" would help.
My most sincere apreciation,
yours

The bookmark idea is what I "stuck" using but still, highlighing important texts in a document as already mentioned would enhance the use of isilo.
pretty please?? :)

almost one year after the previos request, please... introduce highlights... it shouldn't be that hard... use a separate file to mark position in the isilo .pdb files where the browser shlould invert the text... or use a different collor scheme... a switch button for comment mode/read mode ...
please...
