View Full Version : Double entries in file list with v. 4.15

Hi,
All of a sudden I realised many of my files (stored in the same folder of my SD card, a favourite one) show double entries in the file list. Deleting one of them causes the remaining entry to point to an inexistent file, and the message "insert SD card" pops up. I have tried all combinations of refresh, name, date, etc in the preferences panel.

Also, before I checked "Use document type filtering", the size of the file just showed someting like 0;0B. After checking it (trying to solve the above issue), this was corrected.

Documents open alright, and categories are maintained.

I am using a Tungsten T3. A warm reset does not solve the problem (but I have had the same "hacks" with previous versions, betas, and this double entries issue never occurred).
Thanks

If you changed the volume name of your card, then the situation you described can happen. Both entries end up referring to the same file. If you delete one of the entries, then you would delete the file as well. However, if you exit iSilo and then restart it, the other entry should then no longer appear as well, unless you recopy the deleted file to the same location.

The 0;0B you saw probably has something to do with the deleted file.

There is currently no workaround for the double-entries except for deleting the settings database (List menu/Delete Special/Delete Settings Database) and recategorizing all your documents. However, a solution for this issue is being investigated for a future update.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, I did change the name of my SD card!! but I dread to recategorise all files!! Perhaps I'll wait for an update.
BTW The 0;0B in the size columns appeared before deleting the files

The 0;0B entries are most likely the ones that are under the old card name then.
