View Full Version : iSilo 4.1 installed - can not categorize all docs

I just upgraded iSilo on my HandSpring Visor Pro to v4.1 and now I have found that I can no longer categorize all of my documents. As soon as I get down to 7 or 8 uncategorized documents, categorizing one of them causes an already categorized document to pop back into the [uncategorized] category.

Any ideas how this can be fixed? I'm running Windows XP on my pc, if that helps any.

Thanks,

That sounds unusual. Are the documents on a storage card or all in the internal memory of your Visor Pro?

Yes, everything stored on the Visor. I even noticed a document or too that had somehow gotten corrupted-- one was complete gibberish and the other was displaying raw HTML codes. I deleted those documents, as they weren't important. I wish I'd written the names down, so I could double check them.

Anyway, I'll take the next obvious step and re-download iSilo 4.1, reinstall it, and see if there is still an issue.

Thanks,

From the menu, choose Options, then Document List. Choose "off" for the "Auto-cat". This problem used to happen in my case even though all my files were on the device (I have Palm T | E). Turning "Auto-cat" off fixed it.

That worked, though more of my documents appear to have gone AWOL. Could we get this fixed in a future release of iSilo?

We would very much like to fix the issue, but need to be able to reproduce it first to determine the exact cause.

Since you have everything in the internal memory of your Visor, that makes your particular situation more favorable to help with this. For this, we would like to ask if you could zip up all the files from your device and send the zip as a file attachment to http://www.isilo.com/img/email.jpg.

On your desktop computer, you can find your files in the "Backup" directory that is within a directory named similar to your HotSync name in the directory where you installed the Palm Desktop software. After you've sent the files, please post a reply here to confirm that you have done so. The files you send will of course be kept strictly confidential and used only to attempt to reproduce the problem. They will be deleted after that is done.

<<attached to email>> Here is the backup of just the iSilo docs. Some have been updated since I turned off the Auto categorize, but I think this is most of what I had.

I also have a program called 'Magic Scout' which uses (or used to use, I'm not sure) iSilo docs in some internal fashion. It can be
downloaded from http://www.magicscout.com/main.shtml

We received the files and will report back after taking a look.

Are you using any language localization program?

A friend of mine started to encounter this problem on his Palm m515 with iSilo 3.x when he installed a language localization program. I recently started to encounter the same program with iSilo 4.1 when I installed another language localization program. I just wonder if it's also the case with you.

Not that I know of... but I'm not at all sure what that is. Something that on display, replaces all instances of "you" with "y'all" etc., when I have the "deep south" language localization?
