Document Expiry using today + x days/hours/months etc

Hi Guys,
big fan of Isilo and X and am hoping to use it as an ongoing tool for pushing out Intranet content to doctors. Our aim is to have a completely automated process for updating captured content.

Only problem with document expiry function in IsiloX is that you have to put in a specific date. Any plans for introducing a similar function for document expiry along same lines as IsiloX document scheduling?

That way, I could have IXL files with individual docs. refreshing at intervals as mandated by document owners and then also expire them automatically forcing users to get the latest version.

A number of Australian hospitals are already using Isilo and we'd love to mandate it as a document standard which would obviously result in sales for Isilo. Only sticking point is automating document expiry to avoid need to manually enter date and related resourcing.

Any suggestions or advice pls? Can command line IsiloxC handle this?

Neither iSiloX nor iSiloXC have the ability to specify an expiration date that is a certain number of days from the conversion date.

Assuming you are truly automating things and are doing some form of scripting, one possible suggestion is to have your scripts generate a new .ixl file before conversion or modify an existing one, such that your script changes the expiration date specified to suit your needs.

Thanks for the reply. Can you please explain further? I have IT background but haven't worked in the area for a while. That way I can pass on intelligent info. to our IT guys...

My plan was to have IsiloX open on a server with the documents refreshing at set intervals using IsiloX scheduling function. Updated .pdbs would be placed on a search drive and we're looking at multi-format card readers to address hardware and software platform requiremnts. Not an elegant solution but a workable one until we implement WiFi or BT.

IsiloX in itself is such a good tool that up to now I haven't had to consider scripting or IsiloXC.
