I have a couple of iSilo documents that I update regularly and use often. Today, one of them won't open. I tried using clipper, no luck. I can open the file with the desktop version of iSilo but it appears to have lost its table formatting. So, I tried re-converting it without formatting. Still will not open.
I tried copying the document from my internal memory to the SD card. The version on the SD card appeared to open but there was no text and when I checked the page information it said I was viewing page 1 of 0.
Why would it convert OK but then not open? Could a problem with the html code in the original cause something like this? Perhaps a missing </TD> or </TABLE> or something?

It is possible that there could have been a problem in converting. Would you be able to post the converted file in a zip? Also, what is the URL of the page from which the file was converted.

There doesn't seem to be any problem with the document you attached. Which version of iSiloX and which version of iSilo are you using? Also, what is the model number of your device?

Please try updating to version 4.1 and see if you still encounter the problem.

Ok, I'm going to update to 4.1 now. BTW, last night, my categories list crashed. I'm not sure I can reproduce it but, I added a category (with an underscore at the beginning so it would sort out at the top of the list). I forgot to select the category that I wanted it to be under. So, I deleted it and recreated it as a sub of another category. When I tapped OK, I got a reset error. After resetting the device, the category list had been almost totally cleared. ( I think that the categories that were left were from palmreader or something but I'm not sure) And (almost) all of my documents had been uncategorized.

OK, now it does not. There are a couple of files I'm having trouble with. If they are saved in the internal memory, they won't open. If I copy them to the SD card (with delete original after copying checked) they open fine from the SD card but then they don't update on hotsync. If I move them back to internal memory, they update but will not open until I copy them back to the card again.

When you say that when the file is stored internally and it won't happen, what happens exactly when you attempt to open it? Do you get a message?
Regarding the issue with updating, do you mean that when you use iSiloX to reconvert the document it will not update the file on the card? If so, then in iSiloX, have you tried to add the external memory card as a destination for the conversion entry (e.g., Properties/Destination)?

When I tap the file entry, nothing happens. (well, the name is highlighted, the program acknowledges that I have selected the file but it does not open.) Other than that, nothing happens. Another thing that I have noticed is that, when I copy the file to the card, the progress bar goes really, really fast for about the first half of the file and then slows down to what I would call normal speed. The reason I notice this is because when I copy a file that has no problems, the progress bar does not go much faster at first.
Not being a programmer or having any training in computers, I am just relating what I have observed. I have no idea whether it is significant or not.
Is it possible that there is some sort of "lost cluster" or fragmentation or something on the internal memory that would hang up the program but not corrupt the file? I would assume that if it was a problem with the file or iSilo itself that copying it to the card would not fix it.
I will experiment with having iSiloX store files to the card and see what happens.
