"iSilo for Palm OS" version 4.05 introduced a significantly enhanced document list that worked quite a bit differently from the previous implementation and brought along with it a different user experience.
"iSilo for Palm OS" version 4.1 added some improvements to the new experience along with additional options. Here are some tips for setting options in the latest version to improve the document list display:
Use the latest version, currently 4.1.
In the Document List Options dialog (Options menu/Document List), set the Fields option to Name only. Displaying the date and size takes additional time as it requires opening each listed file to retrieve that information.
In the Document Type Options dialog (Options menu/Document Types), under Files on storage cards uncheck the option to Use document type filtering. Document type filtering requires opening of each listed file and examining its contents to determine its file type.
In the Edit Favorite Folders dialog (Tools menu/Edit Favorite Folders), delete Launcher (/Palm/Launcher) as a favorite folder. This should especially speed up the [Uncategorized] listing as the Launcher favorite folder will then not need to be searched for files. You should thus store all your files in the /Palm/Programs/iSilo directory. This particular tip is most important for users who predominantly only use categories to organize their documents. For users who prefer to organize their documents using actual file directories, this last tip is not so important.
