View Full Version : Two features _really_ wanted - Landscape and thumbnail images

I'm a very happy isilo user (registed both palm and ppc versions, though I primarily use the ppc version now).

The two things that would make isilo absolutely perfect would be a landscape mode (especially useful on my ipaq), and the ability to do "thumbnails" of images. This would be really useful for me, as I have maps and stuff like that in many files. I could skim over the thumbnails, then select and view the full size image (perhaps as a separate page in the file).

What are the chances of seeing either of these improvements any time soon?

Craig.

The next update to iSilo, version 4.1, will be able to run in landscape mode on Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (e.g., Pocket PC 2003SE).

For Palm OS, iSilo has support for running in landscape or portrait mode on devices for which the operating system of the device has the ability to natively switch between landscape and portrait mode.

Other than that, there are no current immediate plans to add an internal landscape implementation.

:( That's a shame, as my ipaq h1930 uses WM2003 and there are no plans for a WM2003SE rom upgrade on the cards.

What about the image thumbnail option?

Craig.

All requests are taken under consideration.

However, note that one thing you can do now is to write an HTML index page for your images. On the index page, you could create your thumbnails by setting the height and width attributes of the img tag for each image and setting up each image to be a link to the corresponding full size image. Then you would specify this index page as the source file for conversion. That should give you the result you describe.

Thanks for your prompt answers!

I hope to see this feature implemented eventually. I'll consider your alternative suggestion, thanks. It will work (I'm comfortable with HTML), but will be abit of a pain, removing that "easy" document building with isilox without having to do some extra work. Ah well...

Regards,
Craig.
