Show file extension setting applies to files in memory

I have the setting "Show file extension" unchecked for "Files on storage cards". With iSilo 4.1b2, this setting appears to apply to files that are in RAM as well as on the storage card. This is quite annoying, since I have lots of documents that end with ".com" (from the website name), and now the ".com" is removed.

Is this by design or is it a bug?
