View Full Version : HTC Touch
I am moving my question to this section of the forum. I was told that the sprint HTC touch is actually a pocket pc even though it run windows mobile 6.0. Is this for sure true?
I have not purchased this phone yet, and I will only purchase it if it is guaranteed that I can load iSilo on it. Does anyone have an personal experience with this?
Thanks,
CMOS

The HTC Touch runs the Pocket PC version of Windows Mobile. The original name given to the platform by Microsoft was Pocket PC. The platform has had a few different name changes (by Microsoft) throughout its history. The latest official names for the platform are Windows Mobile Classic and Windows Mobile Professional. The Professional classification is for devices that have phone capabilities. Both Windows Mobile Classic and Windows Mobile Professional also denote touchscreen devices.
Note that there is a third classification called Windows Mobile Standard, which refers to devices with phone capabilities, but without a touchscreen. The original name given by Microsoft to this platform was Windows Mobile Smartphone, hence, the Windows Mobile Smartphone platform version is for Windows Mobile Standard devices.
I wonder whether Isilo has the 'Tap to Scroll' function so that it can be used on HTC Touch HD running WM 6.1. There is no hard button on that phone which is like an iphone.

iSilo for Pocket PC divides the screen into four equal sized areas from top to bottom. By default, the regions are all set to drag scrolling. But you can change the actions assigned to each region with the additional options of scrolling by a line or a screen at a time.
I am a bit confused . Can I simply tap on a particular area of the screen to turn to the next page and on another area to turn back to the original page?

The toolbar has icons for previous page and next page.
If you mean previous screen and next screen, then the tap regions have those options as well. Take a look at the manual (http://www.iSilo.com/support/index.htm) for iSilo for Pocket PC for more details.
