Hello,
Are there any plans for a iSilo for the new T-Mobile G1 Android?
I know it is brand-new, but I use iSilo SO MUCH, I don't want to buy this new phone/platform until I know there is an iSilo version for it.

It is under consideration, but we do not have any specific plans yet.

I just wanted to put in my $0.02 about iSilo on Android for the new G1 phone.
However, I don't much about it, as I just heard about it.
As a s/w developer, I'm always interested in SDKs that makes development/deployment easier.
I'll reply back once I look more into Android.
Thanks,
xHh.

I would like to add my voice to the clamor for a port of iSilo to the Android platform. I use it daily for medical references on an antique PDA (PocketPC 2002!) and my decision on a new device will depend heavily on whether iSilo is available. ISilo remains indispensable and would be a welcome presence among Android apps that will probably lean toward toys. Many thanks.
Another request for an isilo version for the Android platform.
I've preordered the G1, and I'd hate to have to continue to carry my wm6 device just for isilo.

With the open source format of Android it should be the opposite of the "headache" of trying to work around Apple's "fineprint" and solutions (or lack thereof) to develop iSilo for the G1.

I am currently holding a twenty dollar bill in my hand patiently and eagerly waiting to send it to you in exchange for Isilo on android's G1. I just got the G1, yet the biggest reason I got it was for the ability to put Isilo on it for my reading of the Bible and other ministry. Isilo is the best and many of us would appreciate an android version. Please continue to care for your Isilo faithful!

I just bought a T-mobile G1. I like Google and Gmail, so that's why I jumped over from a Pocket PC / Windows Mobile phone. However, one of the most important applications on my Pocket PC is in fact iSilo. Until I can get it on my G1, I need to carry a Pocket PC around with me just to access the one important file I read in iSilo. So please! I can assure you there will be thousands of others that will want this! I also have a $20 bill in my hand waiting patiently.....

I have iSilo for the Palm OS, but I have replaced that with a G1. I will gladly pay for iSilo again if it's ported to the G1.

I see that in September you said things might possibly be happening with making iSilo available for the G1 in the future. Can we please have an update? Thanks.

Could you please elaborate a little more concerning future plans for the g1. Ex. How serious are discussions for android I silo. Also could you voice some of your hesitations so that we could have some insight into your thought process. I feel very much like we're being kept in the dark on this. Thanks in advance!

We are very interested in developing a version of iSilo for Android and so it is under research as mentioned. As for keeping things in the dark, we do not usually make announcements about times or definite plans until we are close to a beta, as many things can happen until that time and we do not want to make promises that we may not be able to keep.

HTC forecast 1million G1 sold in 2008.
2 more million in 2009.
And 6-7 other brands is coming out with Android in 2009.
I'm in the 1st million, and have used isilo in both PPC & Palm for the past 6~7 years for my daily news.
I simply can't live without it!
I will buy, snatch, rob, kill for it. Please include me in the beta!
3 months is too long,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, x_x,

I would also like to see iSilo for Android this is a great program I would pay for it. I think it would be pretty easy considering that it is an open source device, and many have made programs for it. I would pay for iSilo. Even if you don't post it in market. The set it up so you get download and install things off a web page.

Two weeks ago, he just said two to three months. That would put it out to end of March 2009 to the end of April 2009.

I would just like to express my interest in having a version of the iSilo for the android os. I am a Episcopal minister and have a Windows Mobile phone that had iSilo prior to my purchase of the T-Mobile G1 with Android OS and I loved all the things I could do with iSilo on my Win phone, I would love to have those options available for the Android. I know that iSilo is working diligently on this, and I am patient, and would be willing to purchase this product for my personal and professional use. I know that usually a company has to get a certain amount of requests in order to bring about the product and that is why I am posting, to express my interest. Thanks iSilo.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!
I'm ready to buy! Where do I sign up? :D
My initial though, is I need a class 4 or 6 memory card. No problem there, I already planned on getting one. A little bit of hesitation when scrolling through the pages.
It asked for a registration code to make it past the 30 days, does that mean pay for it now? I'll gladly do that!
Other than that, I really appreciate the Isilo team's hard work to provide this! I've sung your praises, and will continue to do so. You all are the best!!!

Thanks so much, this is an excellent beta so far.
How can I change the userid isilo uses for use with purchased books. In palm and windows mobile its just your hotsync id. What is the magic in Android? thanks
iSilo
04-06-2009, 10:18 PM
The user ID on Android is based on the IMEI number of the device, so it is not possible to change it.

The user ID on Android is based on the IMEI number of the device, so it is not possible to change it.
Is this something you plan to change? This would mean that I would need to re-purchase all my reference materials to use android
iSilo
04-07-2009, 01:14 PM
No, that behavior will not be changing as that is the standard identifying piece of information available to an application for forming a unique device identifier.
You will need to contact the publishers of the corresponding documents to let them know that you have changed devices and that you would thus need new document registration codes.
