I'm considering purchasing a Zodiac from Tapwave to replace my current Palm. However, I can't find any information on it's compatibility with iSilo. Anyone have any experience with iSilo on the Zodiac? (The Zodiac uses OS 5 and has a screen similar to the T3.)

Although internally iSilo has not been tested on an actual physical Zodiac device, it does run fine on the development Zodiac simulator. There also have been no reports of compatibility problems nor are there any particular reasons why it would not work.

I installed iSilo on my Zodiac and it's working extremely well. There's only one problem I've found so far. When I activate the autoscroll and try to adjust the speed the pages start scrolling by screen rather than continuing to autoscroll. I've tried with both the action buttons on the right and the joystick on the left. I tried remapping the buttons as well to no effect.
I know iSilo hasn't tested an actual device but would you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

I know this might sound weird, but did you try the left and right directions of the joystick (rather than just up and down)? The TH55 has similar weirdness, but that is primarily due to its unique design.

Unfortunately that didn't work either. I've tried every button and every button configuration without success. Is there an alternate method of adjusting the autoscroll speed? I can only find the reference to the Up/Down buttons in the Manual.
Thanks!

Unfortunately there is no other method to control the autoscroll speed. This issue will be investigated.

Eternally Lost, which version of iSilo are you using? After some investigation, it seems that if you are using version 4.01 or earlier, the behavior you describe can happen. With version 4.05, it seems that you should be able to use the joystick up/down to control the autoscroll speed. If you are not currently using version 4.05, could you give it a try?
There are plans to add support for the up/down action buttons in the next update.

I wasn't sure if I should reply here or post a new thread. I was wondering if isilo will ever (or does, even better) support the Zodiac's sholder buttons for page up and down? Thanks!

Hi! I've been playing with iSilo for several days now. I haven't gotten the shoulder buttons to work, but between the analog and the pad (as well as the autoscroll :D ) it hasn't been something I've even thought about.
(I actually prefer the easter egg rather than iSilo using the buttons. )
Peace!

Thanks for the info! For me, the sholder buttons being able to page down is key. The joystick sometimes moves more pages than I want and using the color buttons requires that I use two hands and is very awkward to do. I find auto scroll annoying ;). Oh well, guess I'll stick with eReader.

Love this thread.
I'm wondering if iSilo will let the buttons on the right be mapped independently of the analog joystick on the left. Right now, it appears that the buttons just mimic the joystick instead of acting like I want them to (with the different actions and such).
I love iSilo, by the way. I think that you have a great product going and I'm hard pressed to use any other article reader. In fact, I'm looking into whether or not I can use iSilo to read my eBooks.
Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Now that I have switched hardware, I too would like to use the shoulder buttons on the Zodiac. That is all.

Has the iSilo team figured out how to map the hard buttons (and the shoulder buttons) independently of the analog joystick? With my T|T and T|3, I got spoiled with the ability to have iSilo map functions for the hard buttons and the D-Pad, but with my move to the Zodiac2 I've lost the ability to have the extra 4 functions.
Right now, the hard buttons on the Zodiac2 react like the directions to the analog stick instead of different functions. Is such a thing possible?

To further clarify, I'd map the right-hand side buttons with the following functions:
Left: Home
Top: Close document
Right: Back
Bottom: Hyperlink
This, in addition to my analog controller settings (Left: Fullscreen, Top: Default, Right: Next page, Bottom: Default) would re-establish the fullest functionality I've enjoyed when I had my T|T and T|3.
Right now, I have to go fullscreen to close the document, go home, or go back to the previous page (and I usually try to tap the screen with my fingers because the stylus isn't always around and I inevitably hit the wrong icon liike "Find" or I hit the right icon but not lasting enough.)
Hopefully the fix is an easy one, and just maybe you were underestimating the importance of the right-hand side buttons to iSilo users.
About the shoulder buttons, I've decided that (for me) to keep their current functions (Right: Graffiti Anywhere activation, Left: Menu drop-down.) But, it still would be nice to have all the extra and available options for us iSilo/Zodiac users.

Maybe this is what kept iSilo from incorporating the use of the shoulder and right-hand buttons? Maybe now it'll be easier to let us users have the ability to customize actions to these buttons?
Gosh, I sure hope so. It'll make iSilo that much more powerful and efficient.

I recently stumbled across an interesting application called SharkBtn (http://www.ludustech.com/sharkbtn/) that allows Palm users to remap key events (among other things). Remap the right shoulder trigger to down, the left to up, and you've got paging in iSilo.
Note that I don't think this application utilizes the DIA hacks that went around a while back. It simply records the raw key events (and reports what it finds). This suggests two things to me. First, that iSilo could add support for the shoulder triggers with almost no effort. Second, that iSilo should have a similar training mode that would support all future devices without modifications to the software.
