Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share with you that if you upgrade to 1.1 (available now in iTunes) all of your downloaded files will be erased.
Just a heads up.

I just downloaded version 1.1 and it wiped out all of my files as well as my categories. Now I have to start over. Is this going to happen everytime there is a new version?:(

I am quite sure it didn't remove any of your files, are you sure you're looking in the right place? Not in recently opened or something, though I believe that should work too, as for me it even opened the document at the same place I had been reading before the update. I updated through the iPhone directly over WiFi. How did you update?

Upgrading will not erase your documents. However, if you delete iSilo from your iPhone/iPod touch device, that will erase your documents and settings. Did you perhaps remove iSilo from your device and then do the upgrade?

I can confirm that all your files WILL be erased. I did not erase iSilo. I only clicked to update. When done, all my files were gone as well as the bookmarks I had placed in them.

The updated application has no control over the updating process. Under a normal successful update, what happens is that the iPhone installer copies the Documents directory to the newly installed update, or something to that effect (we don't have access to the details). Did your download or installation of the update perhaps get interrupted or encounter some error?

My files were wiped as well.
I re-downloaded them, but I hope they fix this in a future update.
I installed mine via iTunes. I had an error after syncing, like "Sorry, could not install iSilo for unknown reason". Then Sync'ed again, and all was fine (except the files being lost).

Well it is true that I have a jailbroken iPhone and loaded the files directly manually so maybe it is totally different. Also I downloaded the 1.1 over the iPhone directly.

I didn't get an error notice or interruption but I did notice the update took alot longer than others. I figured it was because I have some very large .pdb files and that those were slowing it down. Maybe those of us who lost our files have that in common? I had several files in excess of 150 mb.

Update went very well. No documents lost, but the update took quite a lot of time. I only have 3 documents on my iPhone. One of it is 110 MB in size. My iPhone is not jailbroken.

i've notice a lot of apps back up their settings when the iPhone/iTouch syncs and backs up with a pc/mac. anyway iSilo can do the same with docs and their settings? or has apple made that extensive a back up unavailable?

This has never happened before but when I did the 1.1 update my iphone went into convulsions. It basically froze showing a strange image on the screen with just 2 icons. I waited and waited and nothing was happening even with a couple of re syncs and restarting the iphone. Finally I had to do a complete reset losing everything and of course my many pdb files too. Wow has anyone else had this?

So all of you who updated and lost your files, did you use iTunes or the APP button in the phone?

You can try to power your phone off and power it back on. To power it off, hold the sleep/wake button down until you see slide to power off. Slide to power off, wait for it to power off, then press the button down to power it back on.
My upgrage was done thru the internal app store, and took about 3 hours processing 1.4G of files all under the download directory and then subdirectories. The first try at installing stalled and it automatically start again. (Thd best way to download filed is to zip them up by subdirectory and download the zip file, isilo will prompt if you want to unzip now or the next time you try to open the file.
