Could you please add the ability for us to choose to tap to scroll instead of dragging? Reading a decent sized story isn't going to happen if I have to drag to scoll all the time.

Of course, with tap to scroll (I'd like to tap anywhere at the bottom of the screen to go down) you'd need to change where you tap to leave fullscreen mode too.

Thanks

ps. It's so awesome this is finally here for iPhone, I like the new platform but I was really missing my iSilo!

Yes, we are looking into adding configurable tap scrolling for a future update.

However, as an interim possible workaround, there is some undocumented tap functionality that is subject to change in the future that you can try now. In this unofficial functionality, the content area is divided into four equally spaced areas from top-to-bottom. If you double-tap in a region, you get the following behavior:
Top region: Scroll up a screen
Middle top region: Scroll up a line
Middle bottom region: Scroll down a line
Bottom region: Scroll down a screen
If you triple-tap, then you get the following behavior:

Top region: Go to previous page
Bottom region: Go to next page

Do you have a list of other functions that the phone as such COULD use by any chance?

Thank you iSilo, you made my day.

That was one of my biggest problem with your nice program. Let's get full screen now and I will be in paradise.

John:)

Sorry I didn't express myself very clearly :) I mean the iPhone's possibilities. I mean to what functions (like tap, double tap, triple tap etc) are available, so we could consider what could be used to replace the typical PDA soft buttons. Can any of the hardware buttons be changed to do something else within a 3rd party program (such as iSilo)?

We haven't researched it in any depth, but we don't believe it is possible to utilize the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons. It may be possible to use the volume buttons.

Other than the hardware buttons, the only other categories of input are the touchscreen and the accelerometer, for which you can develop whatever "formula" you'd like.

Hi, it is possible to use volume buttons to scroll. See http://code.google.com/p/iphonetextreader/ (jailbreak required to install it, but source is available). That would be very nice addition to iSilo/iPhone

I was really enjoying this as well, being able to tap at the bottom of the screen to scroll but since the update it no longer works. Is there a preference that I am missing to turn this on? By the way, so happy to have my isilo back. Thanks so much!!

Oh I didn't notice the taps were gone before you mentioned it, I guess that shows how much I used it :)

iSilo, was tap scroll removed on purpose or? Might we see it "return" in future update(s)?

THANK YOU!

The functionality disappeared as a result of the entire rework of the scrolling implementation. Since the behavior was unofficial and we are looking at adding customizable tap behavior in a future update, we did not re-add the unofficial functionality.
