By far the easiest way I have found to transfer files to isilo on the iphone from windows: HFS (http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/), the http file server. No installation required, you download the program, run it and drag and drop the files you want to transfer on it. The ip address of your computer is shown in the program, type this in the isilo download option (remember to type the http:// in front of it). Then you can easily browse and download all the files you put in it.

Hello all,

This is a wonderful tool I have been using it for along time but never thought of using it for the iPhone until it was posted here so credit does not go to me for listing the program but I think I can give everyone a run down on how to use it.

Ok here it goes:

1. Download HFS from here http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/ or click on the link in wouterstomp's post.

2. Run the program and it will start the http file server and list your ip address in the box.

3. Find the wtlib files on your computer and drag them to the Virtual File System window (the one in the top left of the HFS program)

4. From your iPhone start iSilo and go to the ... in the top right corner and choose download.

5. In the address bar at the top put in http://youripaddress/nameoffile and press the DONE button.

Please note that you must be connected to your wireless network so that your on the same ip Scheme. This will not work if you are using 3G or EDGE unless you know how to open ports on your router to allow access from outside.

6. The file should download to your iPhone. If it doesn't you might have spelled the name of the file wrong or you may need to pay attention to case sensitive.

That's it!

Note: http://youripaddress is the one that is listed in the HFS program, for example mine is http://192.168.0.5 so to download my file I put in http://192.168.0.5/wtpub-en-dx-2007a.pdb and it downloads fine.

thank you so much for this very easy and painless way to transfer wtlib files from my windows pc to my iphone. The wtlib on the iphone is incredible due to the large screen size, much better than my blackberry. without this site and your information I would have never figured out how to transfer those files.

I am not sure where you saw that price?? Franky I haven't seen ANY APP on the app store even being half of that in price.

If you click on the BANNER UP AT THE TOP OF THIS FORUM, it will take you to the iSilo that is at the time I am typing this still $9.99 that is NINE DOLLARS and NINETY NINE CENTS, so if you want one penny missing from being $10, never has iSilo costed $100 nor do I think it ever will! (Well with the finances as they are, never say never huh? :))

iTunes has regional stores that have prices in regional currencies. Martin Gonzalez probably saw the price on the iTunes Mexico store, which has iSilo listed at $100 (Mexican dollars/pesos). Apple limits a developer to setting the price from a set of price tiers and for each price tier, there is an "equivalent" in each region. All prices in the US store end with .99. So a $0.99 cent (0.99 USD) app in the US iTunes store probably will sell for $10 (Mexican Peso) on the iTunes Mexico store, etc. So depending on the exchange rate, you may actually get a slightly better or worse deal depending on which region you purchase from.

Im sorry...

It was a misunderstanding, the prices at the Itunes for Mexico are posted in mexican pesos not in US dollars, which it is not stated at all.

I discovered the ISILO licence cost $100 pesos and I boughted asap...

Greetings...

Hello,
thanks for this info, but I tried it all and it still doesn't work. I just got the 1.2 version today, and initially followed the directions on "How to transfer files to iSilo™ for iPhone OS on Windows XP", but each time I try to add any of the three server addresses listed on my iSilo as a new network place, it tells me "The folder you have added is not valid. Please choose another". I do have Bonjour, and my firewall is off.
So then I downloaded HFS, and uploaded one of my isilo pdb files, and then added the address to my iSilo on my iphone as directed, in the http://youripaddress/nameoffile format, as described in the previous post. Each time it seems like it is downloading the file, but then it says "download error: timed out"
seems ridiculous to spend $10 on an app that doesn't work, and I've spent several hours already trying to figure this out!
If you could please help, that would be great.
thanks

First off I don't think $9.99 is too much or even a lot for the iSilo program. In fact many of us have paid double that for other OS platforms for iSilo, taking into account the added challenges with making this for/in conjunction with Apple (rules and policies) it's actually a special offer price!

Also I'd like to point out that there is plenty of us that have been using all the iSilo versions successfully on our iPhones and iPod Touches (personally I have it working on both sucessfully), so it's not "an app that doesn't work". Now are you using a Mac or XP, I for one was never able to get it to work on my OS X so I just did it on the XP with HFS, I have yet to try the 1.2 solution but I'm sure it works?

Can you elaborate on what you have tried and did you verify double (and triple?) checked that you typed in the IP correctly?

Hi all,
I am having the same issue as above. I get the message "Download error. timed out" when using HFS after it seems as if the file is downloading. I have checked time and again that the file name is correct and tried different files as well. Has anyone an idea on how to deal with this?

Thank you
