I'm sure I'm just overlooking this, but I've navigated throughout the application, tried click and hold, etc. but cannot figure out how to delete files. What am I missing?

Ah, thanks jopacer, I knew I had to be missing it!
@iSilo devs, this popup menu is good even though it deviates from the iPhone UI for deleting items, since it allows us to perform many actions, but if you could make it a bit of a larger target that would be great! Remember that we're using fingers and not a stylus. ;)

Are there a method to mark a document (not a folder) as "favorite"?

simply push long time over the icon document and click delete. You don't need to push long. Just tap the icon and the context menu should appear immediately.

Just tap anywhere to the left of the name and it will work, including the area below the icon on the second line of the entry. In other words, tapping anywhere to the left of the text will get you the context menu. But yes, we could potentially make the icon column wider. Barring that, a good trick is just to tap as close to the left edge as possible. You will get the hang of it after a few tries.

Are there a method to mark a document (not a folder) as "favorite"?Not exactly, but an alternative is to create a Favorites category and then place your favorite documents into the Favorites category. Then in the Favorites view, you could simply just have it always show the contents of the Favorites category.
In the document list view, you can place a document in a given category by using the Cateogries command in the file context menu.
If you are viewing the document you want to place into a given category, go to More/Categories.
