It appears that the search feature does not work properly when the target of the search is a hyperlinked and footnoted word.

For example, in the LDS scriptures, to search the Old Testament for "In the" finds a match with the first verse of Genesis chapter 1, as you'd expect. However, if your search argument is "In the beginning" the first match found is in Numbers 10:10. It completely misses the obvious match in Genesis 1:1. I suspect this is because the word "beginning" in Gen 1:1 is footnoted and hyperlinked.

This seems to me to be a major problem. One of the great values on having the scriptures in electronic format is the searching capability. Also, one of the main reasons I selected iSilo for my scripture reader is its ability to incorporate the footnoting and hyperlinking. Hopefully this can be added to a list of feature enhancements for future updates.

If the footnotes are composed to text as opposed to an image representing the text, then a search should also find them. You can tell that they are text if you can select individual letters.

So assuming the footnotes are actually text, then check the options in the find dialog. If the footnotes are on another page, make sure you have checked the "Entire document" option. The range option may also have an effect. For example, if the footnotes are on a page before the current one, then if the Range is to search Down (e.g., forward), then the footnotes won't be searched because they are in the "Up" range.

Isilo 5.0x was installed on an Ipaq 110, and for a while the search was fine. Just starting recently, the search does not find every match in the text. The particular document is a Bible with footnotes. All the correct options are checked, but some instances are skipped over. I'll have to reply again, I faintly remember something 'happening'. (A friends device I set up).
