How to set default encoding

I am using iSilo ver 5.01 on S60V3. Each time I open a new .txt file the encoding is set to windows-1252. How do I set it default to other encoding scheme like UTF-8?? I try Edit->Options->Display->Encoding->UTF8, but only will store in the files that already open once. If I open a new file again, it will go back to the default windows-1251. I also try Edit->Options->Display->Also set as defaults, it does not really save all the defaults. Please help. Thank you.

It is a bug. In the read view display options, selecting to set the options as defaults does not set the options as defaults. This issue will be addressed in the next update to iSilo for Symbian Series 60.
