garbbled .BDBs

I'm running v5.0 on a Treo 680. None of my BDB documents show anything but nonesense characters. Is this a conflict with some other application? How do I troubleshoot this behavior?

It is likely the case that the pdbs in question are neither in iSilo nor Palm Doc format. If you have a small sample file (< 100K) that exhibits the behavior, would you be able to attach it so that we can take a look?
