Is there any way to iSilo clip a PDF file? Surely this has been asked, but I was getting zero hits on searches for PDF.
I really need to a way to get PDF files to my Palm, and I don't want to have to purchase another (inferior) clipping app - Repligo - just for that.
If this capability isn't available yet, is it in the works? Is it desired functionality or part of the development roadmap?
The only thing worse than having to buy another very similar product just for one feature is finding out the product you prefer is coming out with that feature in 2 months....

From the iSiloX FAQ (http://isilox.com/support/faq.htm):
Can I convert the content of an Adobe PDF document?
No, this is not supported but is being investigated for the future.
From the iSilo FAQ (http://isilo.com/support/faq.htm):
Can I convert the content of an Adobe PDF file?
Neither iSiloX nor iSiloXC can convert the content of an Adobe PDF file directly. You need to get the content into HTML format first. Click How to Read PDF Files on a PDA with iSilo (http://www.rickyspears.com/articles/convert_pdf_for_isilo.html) for an article on one way to do this.

Thanks for reply. My apologies for not checking the FAQ. I did check the forum before posting, though - promise!
Is it safe to assume "being investigated for the future" means "long way off"?
I interpret "being investigated for the future" as PDF functionality is only being considered at this stage - there aren't any plans, nothing in the development roadmap, etc.
I kinda figured this would be the case. I recognize that PDF conversion isn't really what iSilo is about, and I also realize that trying to tackle too much functionality can be dangerous if the overall app suffers. And iSilo is currently so much better than anything else out there.
So it looks like I'll have to deal with another app to view PDF docs. The link to the article you listed is pretty cool - I will look into that, but it sounds like it's not really what I'm looking for. What I'm wanting is more or less a PDF conversion to Palm format - the ability to look at a PDF document like a contract, exactly as it appears on the original PDF.
Adobe's Palm conversion tool blows. Is the only other alternative Repligo? For that matter, does anyone know if Repligo would offer me anything over iSilo beside the PDF conversion? (I just hate to buy Repligo for only one feature. Can Repligo do anything else cool?)
Thanks.

There are no immediate plans for direct PDF conversion at this time, so it is only being considered and researched at this stage. But even if there were direct PDF conversion, the converted content would not be expected appear in the same manner as the original PDF. In other words, if you had a PDF document that was intended to be output to legal size paper 11"x14", the iSilo version would not be expected to retain any of that fixed formatting. Repligo is probably the best solution out there now for something like that and also for any other documents for which you want to carry around a more or less print-format like appearance.

Thanks for the direct, honest reply. I understand about the formatting - hence my comment "PDF conversion isn't really what iSilo is about." Perhaps I'm not 100% clear on what I want (wouldn't be the first time).
I think it's difficult for me to use Repligo, because I find myself wanting it to work like iSilo. Yeah, I know... they're different apps. I didn't say I was smart.
I'm beginning to think that Adobe's own solution might be what I should use. It's just so painfully S.............L..............O..............W
