I am writing here this message because I wrote this several times to Isilo support and nothing was answered in two weeks.

Hello, I am J.M. Pérez, moderator of www.pdaexpertos.com on his forum
devoted to translations and projects.

Your Isilo for PalmOs and Windows is a nice piece of software, and we are
offering you a free translation (soft, user manual and tutorials) for Palm
plattform. After this, a promotion labeled as "product in Spanish" would
follow to encourage and support for the use of Isilo and IsiloX on Spanish
Palms.

This process is free, but we need your permission and the resource files for
translation. After this, you will have Isilo in Spanish version to offer on
your site for palm customers.

Please, let me know if you are interested on this and we will be pleased to
serve you.

Our rates are free. PDAexpertos.com is a public forum
that is beginning to work, and our first projects are Pathaway soft from
Muskokatech and Repligo from Cerience, Rescoviewer from Resco soft and
lately Mobile Office from Mobile Systems, that
we are translating for them. We
just want to have soft in Spanish.

We translate soft and manuals (PC soft and installer included) and later we
intend to do a review and continuous support and product advising and
registration encouraging. Let's say products in Spanish translated by
members have an "special place" at our forum and they are fully recommended
to users and newbies coming to Pdaexpertos.com. Palm Soft is not usually
available in Spanish, so we try to fix this problem by means of free
translations (but always with the soft owner permission and support).

Feel free to contact me if you decided PDAexpertos to translate your soft to
Spanish and we will inmediatelly begin to work. As a responsible I can
guarantee you a quality product by internationalizing your product, not just
a translation.

Thanks.

José Manuel Pérez

I have offered myself as a free resource for improving certain iSilo features in the past. I believe their response stated that they were unwilling to risk the release of their source code to the public.

However, I know they have (had?) a Chinese version that appeared to be translated by a single individual, so I don't think your offer is out of the question (perhaps the document "strings" are isolated from the rest of the program). I wish you the best of luck.

Localization is not a problem, it doesn't mean ripping the program, because translators work with simple text strings that later are compiled by the software owner (not by the translator). We are doing this for Resco, for Cerience, for Muskokatech and for Mobile Systems and no problems so far. Usually programs have separate resource files containing the text.

But I think at least people at Isilo should answer and say yes or not...I have been two weeks emailing them without receiving back an answer. :(
