Rename of long-name document on SD problematic

v 4.01 on Palm Zire 71 with Palm OS 5.2.1 with Security and SDIO patches:

After synching several files straight to my SD card (mostly iSilo files) I found the following problem in Rename:

File: Bleak_House_-_Charles Dickens.PDB
Position cursor between _H and use backspace in grafitti followed by space.
==> Everything after k disappears
It's actually still there, but it takes a leap of faith to say OK and to continue to try to replace _ with space. Each replacement is a separate rename.

I can avoid the problem if I work from right to left.

It is not a bug. The rename document form uses the standard Palm OS text entry field, so the way it works when the text is too long to fit on a single line is that the text is broken up onto multiple lines (one line shows at a time), with spaces as word breaks. So in the case of your example, when you insert the space between "Bleak" and "House_-_Charles_Dickens.PDB", "House_-_Charles_Dickens.PDB" moves to the next line. So if you just cursor right after inserting the space, you will see the "House_-_Charles_Dickens.PDB" part.
