hey ! :)

so i'm the new and happy user of a TH55, and iSilo 4.05 works mainly fine (see my other post (http://forum.isilo.com/showthread.php?t=350) ) but there's one feature i would like to appear :

the jog-dial of the TH55 is great for scrolling a document

see here :
http://www.clieandco.com/03tests/Clies/images_TH55/th55_hard/clie_th55_22.jpg

the jog allows to scroll up & down and to move screen by screen ...

but the right and left buttons do exactly the same

why don't they have the same kind of options as the "buttons" at the bottom do ?

see here

http://www.clieandco.com/03tests/Clies/images_TH55/th55_hard/clie_th55_13.jpg

for instance to go to the previous or next page

that would be so much more comfortable to use:)

is it possible ? or is there a good reason they don't offer the same kind of options and settings ?

thanks

You can specify the action of the left and right buttons; Sony has made it non-intuitive, though.

As you appear to be aware, you can edit the button mappings in iSilo from the "Options/Button..." dialog. On the TH-55, the left button corresponds to the hardware scroll-up button, and the right button corresponds to the hardware scroll-down button.

In your case, map the "Up" button to "Previous page" and the "Down" button to "Next Page".

many thanks for your answer

i read several times your post, i tried to to dit.. and i can't/don't understand

ok
in the iSilo Options, i have :
-Display
-Font
-Interface
-Scroll
-Region
-Button

let's focus on Scroll and Button :

- Buttons are for the 4 buttons at the bottom of the Clie
i set them to act as : Home - Previous Page - Next Page - Last Page

fine for me
but on the TH55 these buttons are not very "tactile" and are hard to find in the dark
so i would like the two buttons of the jog dial to act as Previous and Next Page

let's go to the Scroll options :
they offer

* Screen up/down behaviour -> that's only for the text
* Hardware button behavior -> there's only "screen" (up/down) and "line" (up/down)"
* Jog Wheel -> once again there's only "screen" (up/down) and "line"

so how do you map the right and left button of the jog to act as Previous or Next page ?

I see where you are confused. The "Options/Button..." dialog is not limited to the four buttons on the bottom.

In the "Button" drop-down list, you need to set the "Up" and "Down" buttons. Each of the ten options in that list corresponds to a different button on the unit.
