Cannot read .pdb files

I just got my Q recently and installed iSilo. I have downloaded some books and when I load them they are all garrbled up. Just a bunch of special characters and stuff. Anyone else seen this or know how I can fix it?

Most likely they are not files in iSilo document format. If you have a very small example (10K or so), you can attach it and we will double-check for you.
