View Full Version : iSilo 5.0b2 Annotations file 32k limit?!?

I seem to have hit a 32k limit on the size of the annotations file. I have it stored on the card. When the file reaches 32 or 33k I can not make any more annotations and the annotations dialog is mostly blank and does not work correctly.

I _love_ annotations, I hope this can be resolved!

Yes, it is a bug that will be fixed in the next update to the beta.

This is fixed in beta 3!

I've spent the weekend making a _lot_ of annotations in a large file. The isa file is now up to 51K and working great. No corruption at all.

I've been busy adding more annotations with beta 3 for Palm OS and got the file up to 108k. I just noticed tonight that it appears to be corrupted again. There are annotations that show in the text but do nothing when tapped on. Also the annotations list has areas of blank items.

I'll switch to beta 4, I didn't realize it was out. I used to be on an email announce list that informed me of all the releases but I haven't found it recently.

Is there any hope for all my annotations or should I just delete the file and start over again?

Can you post the corrupted .isa file that you have so that we can take a look and see if it gives any clues as to why it got corrupted?

If the annotations file gets corrupted, you should delete it and start over.

The email announcement list actually hasn't been active for more than a year. The way to get announcements now is to subscribe to the Announcements forum (http://forum.isilo.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1).

I have 2 .isa files that seem corrupted. I'd prefer to email them or ftp them than post them here publicly.

OK, you win. I'd really like to see this get fixed before I spend weeks of my time annotating only to see it become corrupted. I'd hoped to get an email address to send them to, but alas no.

Thanks for attaching the files. We haven't been able to determine anything specific from them, but we are still trying.

There is a new beta 5 (http://www.isilo.com/info/beta/index.htm) that adds a fix for annotations that hopefully addresses the issue that caused the annotation corruption. Please give it a try.

Thank you! I'll update now and see if I can corrupt the file again or not. This time I'll keep backups as I go. It takes a lot of time to get that many annotations crammed in there. (ha ha)
