The setup:

I am using iSilo 4.05 Beta 2 for Palm OS on a Sony Clie TH55.

I have all of my files under two levels of categories (e.g., "/Novels/Fantasy"). These categories were originally specified from within iSiloX for Windows, but the bug appears even when applying categories manually. A couple of the files are on external memory, but the majority are located on the device.

I have two empty, single-level categories that I assume are created by default: "/Business" and "/Personal".

I have a document, "Agreeable Prophecies", filed only under the "/Novels/Fantasy" category.

The bug:

I select the categories menu for the document "Agreeable Prophecies" (either from the menu within the document or from the document list, it doesn't matter). My only action is deleting the "/Business" and "/Personal" categories, and then I hit "OK".

After the deletion, all document categorization is lost for all documents. The categories still exist, but they are all empty.

I am able to repeat this behavior at any time by creating a category and then subsequently deleting it.

Similar posts:

This issue is similar to this post except that closing iSilo and reopening it does not have any effect.

This issue appears to be identical to this post.

I have reposted the bug under its own thread because a) it was not addressed in Beta 2 and b) this bug is a significant flaw that is extremely aggravating.

Note: This bug is also present in 4.05b1b.

Beta3, just made available, addresses the issue. Please give it a try.
