OK, I caught the bookmark bug that I described below happening at full power.
So maybe it's not a hardware failure (I guess it's possible that the file got corrupted earlier by trying to save to the stick with insufficient power so that it fails x bookmarks later or something...)

Anyway, I'd been making a bunch of backups of a file that had been corrupted once already and I caught it right before it fails. I have a large (1300 kb) file with 38 bookmarks that looks fine and all the bookmarks work OK, but if you try adding one more bookmark, the bookmarks get corrupted.

I can e-mail you the file if you're interested.

I saw problems with 35 bookmark entries. Most use all available bookmark name space, but a few are shorter.
In my case, the last bookmark name was gibberish. It pointed to one of my 'lost' bookmarks. If I added it back, then the next bookmark (previously lost) returned, but with one bad character.
I think I finally resolved all these problems when I realized the ampersand character in a bookmark name led to bizarre problems. Apostrophe may also be problematic.

Still have not received the file from user straight. Straight, have you sent it?

Greg D'Unger, would you be able to email the file that is causing you problems with bookmarks?

I rolled back to previous version and fixed the bookmarks, and I didn't save the 4.05b3 version. I just installed 4.05b4 version and it doesn't seem to have any problems with & character in bookmarks.
