The category screen for applications in the Palm OS launcher (/Y or "Menu", "Category") is an extremely quick and efficient way of categorising many items. I'd like to see something similar in iSilo as currently, I have to open each document I want to categorise individually and select the category/ies from within the doc itself - much more time consuming.

Categorization will totally change in the next update (version 4.05, currently in beta), but there is something similar from version 3.0 to 4.01.
In the document list view, you can select the Categorize mode from the popup list in the lower left. You can then tap individual documents to quickly categorize them.

It was version 4.05b1b to which I was referring.
I have subsequently discovered the popup window accessible from a 1sec tap on the document icon in the document list view however it's still very slow to categorise many documents.

Please be sure to state the version next time so that it is clear to which version you are referring.

The popup window to which you refer is the context menu for file operations in the document list view. The one second hold is only required when tapping on the file's name. Tapping on the icon immediately gives you the context menu.

Whilst this is true it's besides the point. My initial comment was that there's a very fast way to categorise multiple items in the Palm launcher and iSilo would benefit (IMHO) from something similar. Whether I can launch the popup window instantly or not by tapping an icon is irrelevant.
PALM METHOD:
Display all items. Beside each item place a dropdown list containing every category.
To categorise twenty items: one tap on the dropdown and another on the category = 2 taps per item x 20 + 'done' = total of 41 taps.
ISILO METHOD:
Require navigation to each item (through favorites, recent, categorised, or location). Select submenu popup and then choose 'categories'. Check relevant boxes for categories.
To categorise twenty items: (Assuming you're able to display all 20 at once i.e. they're all on ROM) one tap on the document icon, another on 'Categories', another on the specific category's checkbox, another on 'okay' = 4 taps per item x 20 = total of 80 taps.
It's plainly obvious that there's a more efficient way than the current iSilo implementation already on every Palm OS device out there. Why not just copy it?

Your point was noted and of course will be taken under consideration for the future.

It would be nice to be able to highlight several books and categorize them all at one time rather than each one individually.
