Full isilox for linux would be great, isiloxc is ok but obviously very difficult to add new documents, and isiloxc does work under wine, but also does crash under sertain conditions...

I second the request for a native iSiloX for Linux. Otherwise, Plucker (http://plkr.org/) will become the defacto standard in the open source arena.
I had requested this functionality by email about 2 years ago, so I don't expect that it will get much traction now. It may already be too little too late. :(

While iSiloX for Linux would be nice, I don't think it would help iSilo become the "defacto [sic] standard in the open source arena". iSilo is not free (in either sense of the word), the conversion utilities are not open source, and the document format is completely closed. At a minimum, the iSilo format would need to be open to the public to be accepted in that community.

I forgot to point out that the iSilo company gives you all of the tools required (iSiloXC for Linux and the .ixs/.ixl format specifications) to create your own iSiloX for Linux. An enterprising individual could probably a Python program that mimics most of iSiloX in about two days.
