View Full Version : The future

So, I am looking ahead to my next device or two, and trying to make some decisions. I have been using iSilo for years, I've purchased three licenses (one HPC, two palm), and I have a significant library of reading material and reference info in iSilo format, including some I have purchased from Fictionwise. I would like to continue using that library.

What platforms do you intend to support in the future? Palm seems to be going nowhere -- even Palm devices don't run the latest Palm OS, and now they are making Windows handhelds. You've never shown any interest in a Mac version, and have made it pretty clear that you won't support Linux (desktop or handhelds), or Symbian in the future. So our choices are narrowing quickly. Any plans for anything else? The new eInk devices, maybe? iPod? Abacus? Anything? Do you only plan to maintain the Palm and Windows versions?

Thanks,
Jack

A verison for the Mac is a possibility for the future.
A version for Linux is a possibility for the future.
A version for iPod is a possibility for the future.

There is an interest in developing for all possible platforms.

However, there must be enough of a customer base in order for a new platform version of iSilo to have a greater priority.

Right now, of all the seven platform versions of iSilo available, the Palm OS and Pocket PC platforms have a far greater percentage of support from customers than all the other platform versions.

Platform versions of iSilo for additional Symbian OS-based platforms (e.g., S60 3rd, UIQ 3.0, Series 80) have a higher priority than any other possible new platforms.
