my isilo file is about 120mb.
when copying it to a flash card, there is a high risk that this file gets fragmented.
when the file is fragmented (into 2 pieces) on the cf card, it can either not be read from my dell axim x5 ppc, or only a part of the file's content can be read.
when i defrag the flash card, isilo is able to access the whole isilo database.
using an sd card instead of the cf shows the same effect.
when using the flash card in the pc card reader or in a palm, the isilo database can be used without any problems.
is there a different handling of this file on the ppc by isilo wheather it is fragmented or not?
i first asked dell about this, but it looks like this shouldn't be a problem for the x5 to use fragmented files, but the problem could be because of a higher demand for internal memory when reading a fragmented isilo database.
any idea how to avoid this problem?
