Those who develop and create in this world spend a lot of time, energy, and personal investment in their creations often in lieu of paid work. To support these efforts and encourage future ones, it is necessary for these creators (whether they be artists, writers, designers or others) to be compensated for their efforts. There are a lot of folks who believe in freely sharing their creations (as evidence by all the medical freeware available) but if they don't it is neither moral nor legal to steal their content. Granted, a lot of the medical references listed are overpriced for PDA. But the appropriate response is to avoid those products or to galvanize support to put pressure on the companies to make them more affordable.

Using illegal copies is not compatible with the ethics of a medical professional.

Also please note that ideas cannot be copyrighted only published works.

well, excuse me , but you should take it easy man,,, as those only who commit illegal and non ethical actions are these big companies and corporations and goverments, who have always and still roping the weaker nations around the world,,,
i am from a third world country and i can tell you that most of people here (including doctors) are not able to buy these over priced e-products that dosn´t cost these companies anything in terms of publication and distrrbution as with ordinary books, but they insist on putting these high prices on them, and no body is interfering with them as the biggoverments are doing to our finances and policies!

i like to read medical book and when i go to library sometime i read medical journal. I can know about lots of disease, their symptoms, their remedy. I feel all of us need to know about it while we are health conscoius.
